About Us
Owned by Chris Toto and her husband, Dan, Around the Table opened in 2002 as a personal chef service, providing time-challenged families with home-cooked meals prepared in their own homes. After being asked by a client to host a cooking birthday party for their child, Chris gladly accepted the challenge, not knowing then that it would be the beginning of a marvelous adventure which would later lead her to follow her longtime passion for food and open a local gourmet shop.
After two years of traveling all over the state providing cooking birthday parties for kids, Chris knew she needed a “home base” in order to provide children with a higher-quality cooking experience. So she and Dan set out to find the perfect place – who knew it would be right under their nose in their own town! Their three daughters, Erica, Amanda and Claudia are able to walk to the shop from school to help assist Chris with the after-school cooking classes offered at the shop, in addition to the summer cooking camp program. “Grandma” works at the store, too – it truly is a family affair!
